I was reading up about Foucault currents or Eddy currents testing to id metals... more reading to do so don't expect me to provide much insight. I conceptually understand the process ... In my reading there was a mention of using Foucault currents or Eddy currents to detect obscured serial numbers or hallmarks. It was only mentioned and not explained..... Is anyone familiar with the technique when used to reveal obscured Hallmarks? Is there a technical term that is particular to the process when using Foucault currents to detect/inspect/reveal a Halllmark? IP: Logged |
