![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hobbyist Engine-Turning/Jeweling Automotive hobbyists make their metal parts more attractive by using a decorating technique they call Engine-Turning/Jeweling. In the video below you will see its fairly simple to do. I am wondering if anyone has ever tried to fix up unattractive silver using this hobbyist technique? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() In the related field of ceramics, potters designed and made objects using engine turning. Donald Carpentier recreated the tools necessary to make ceramics in the same way the Josiah Wedgwood did in the 1700s. This link shows the process he used. Engine Turned Pottery on a 1768 Style Potters Lathe Designed by Wedgwood I suspect that silver smiths had similar tools to accomplish the cutting of their silver. IP: Logged |
