I'm wondering how to find a silversmith for occasional repairs on my silver collection. Ideally there would be one in Virginia. I had the great fortune for a few years to know a superb craftsman nearby who passed away recently. Since he died I have shipped a few things for repair but shipping is expensive and feels risky. Thanks! IP: Logged |

If you have any local antique dealers that deal in silver items you might ask them who they use for silver repair. That may get you to a local person. IP: Logged |

Thanks, ahwt. I don't know any local silver dealers. Oddly I found my former silversmith through recommendation by one of the major matching services when I received a damaged item. The dealer in St Louis had recommended another silversmith in Alexandria VA who also died recently. I've asked local jewelers and collectors. We're still looking. IP: Logged |
