I recently purchased this server and I am not quite sure of its intended purpose. It is the circa 1880 Knowles Sterling ROSE aka BUG pattern. An internet search showed several nearly identical, pierced servers with leaf-like tines that differed by the number and placement of the tines. The detail and bright-cutting is exceptional. Is this perhaps a vegetable serving fork or a version of macaroni server? I did see a picture of a an item sold as a macaroni sever that had pointed teeth around a plain, unpierced, round bowl. I favor vegetable serving fork. [This message has been edited by park1226 (edited 09-28-2022).] IP: Logged |
