I almost forgot about this stumper. It is a late Victorian sterling, seed pearl, & celluloid hair comb. It's approximately 4.50 inches wide and 3 inches tall. It has the mark for the Fishel, Nessler & Co. It is a fish with "L" at the mouth. I cannot find any info on this company.

Fishel, Nessler & Co. was established about 1886 in New York City. The last listing found for the company was for 1936-1937. The company manufactured sterling silver and rhinestone-set jewelry as well as platenoid rhinestone-set jewelry. It registered US Trademark Patent #23,016 for use on jewelry May 16, 1893. The company received two invention patents for the "breakless" bar pin. This information is from the Encyclopedia of American Silver Manufacturers by Dorothy Rainwater & Judy Redfield.
