Here's an unusual thing. It's a silver whistle 2.5 inches long by 1.88 inches wide and .6 inches deep. It's suspended on a fully articulated (necklace) silver cord approx. 25" long. Here's a pic of all the marks:
This is just the signature: This is the whistle: This is a detail at the mouth: The signature looks like Hans Hausen (best guess)but I haven't been able to find it or the name anywhere. Does anyone recognize it? By the way, the pictures don't do justice to the subtle curved shape of the whistle. It is almost irresistible ...no one can help holding and playing it. (My son has had fun playing Ode to Joy on it!) Vera. IP: Logged |

Hi Vera, Neat piece! It's sterling from Hans Hansen (1884-1940), who opened a silversmith shop in Kolding, Denmark in 1906. They started making jewelry in the 1930s, much of it designed by the son Karl Gustav Hansen (b.1914). They were still in business and using that mark until 1992, when they became a part of Georg Jensen. Cheryl ;o)
