I'm trying to find out some basic information on sterling marks (STERLING and 925). I've noticed older pieces of jewelry are stamped with the word sterling but today new pieces are stamp 925. Do you know when the american jewelry companies started doing this? It seems I've read somewhere that this change over took place in the 1970's. Is this true? Thanks so much for any info on this. I've looked all over the web but can't get any info on this. Thanks, IP: Logged |
