I have a Mexican SIlver bracelet that looks like Abstract linked Mayan Glyphs-Very Heavy and with unique slide lock clasp with safety lever. Hallmark " MEXICO 925 TF-41" Anyone heard of "TF-41" Who that is? Could it be TAXCO? IP: Logged |

Hi suebobaloo. The "TF-41" indicates the city and taller or workshop identification number; each different maker has its own number. In this case, T=Taxco. I do not know who runs/ran workshop 41, but given the large number of smiths in that area, it might be hard to trace. However, there is a relatively recent book on Mexican makers that I do not have that might be able to identify the maker for you. I think it is quite inexpensive. The format of XX-## to identify city and workshop has been in use only since about 1980, so your bracelet is of fairly recent vintage. IP: Logged |
