I just returned from a rummage sale with the purchase of a swan pin. The pin is the profile of 2 swans facing one another with beaks and necks forming a heart shape. The pin is 7/8" by 5/8". I have a question about the marks on the back: This my first submission and would appreciate your help. Thanks! ------------------ IP: Logged |

Hi. The marks do not ring a bell. I feel this is probably a later piece, perhaps within the last 20 years. The first symbol is a copyright symbol ( © ). The other symbol is the maker's mark, which I do not recognize. Perhaps if you could post a picture of the pin (front & back) and the marks, something might strike somebody. IP: Logged |

Thank you for the quick reply. I will post a picture of the maker's mark. IP: Logged |

Here are photos of the front and back of the swan pin.
Please respond if any of this looks familiar. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I can tell you that if the design is copyrighted, the piece dates to post 1955. American jewelry was not copyrighted, by law, until 1955. ------------------ IP: Logged |
