I have a necklace marked 950 Jerusalem Silver. I have looked all over the net for a picture that looks like this necklace but can't find an exact match. I am wondering if it is because it is rare or so common. I think it is a Jerusalem cross design. Does anyone know anything about this? IP: Logged |

I suspect your cross is a relatively modern souvenir from the Holy Land. Several similar examples can be seen at a commercial site specializing in religious souvenirs: IP: Logged |

Yes, these crosses were and continue to be popular souvenir items from Jerusalem. Usually one finds them in the form of necklaces, the cross-shaped pendants typically decorated with wirework designs, and sometimes semiprecious gemstones. Earlier examples, such as from the 20s and 30s, tend to be heavier, more intricate, and better quality than newer examples. Without seeing a closeup of your piece, it is hard for me to say how old it probably is. IP: Logged |

Your photographs are no longer loading, as if they have been removed from your server. I have removed the posts so the page does not look cluttered. I did get a chance to see the images before they disappeared, and it seems that your cross is probably from the last 20 years. ----- IP: Logged |
