I have a simple modernist pin stamped sterling and H. Pear.. Last several letters are not stamped clearly enough to make out. does this ring any bells? thanks IP: Logged |

Sounds like the work of Ronald Hayes Pearson, an esteemed midcentury smith. Can you post a picture? His style is very recognizable. IP: Logged |

That is a Ronald Hayes Pearson pin. Scott Braznell wrote the definative biography of this artist in one of the Winterthur periodicals. Ron's early passing was a great tragedy. He had a great influence on many of us. Fred [This message has been edited by FredZ (edited 02-03-2006).] IP: Logged |

There is another thread entitled SILVERSMITH PEARSON" about some salt cellars by Pearson in the 20th C forum, and an internet search will net even more information. I am still kicking myself for passing up a Pearson necklace that a general-line dealer tried to sell me some years ago. I should have recognized the name, but my brain was in neutral and I passed it up. By the time I realized my error and went back for it,it had been sold. Doh! Brent IP: Logged |
