I found this bracelet at a yard sale a few months ago. I've been trying to find out info on it since then. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry, can't post a pic yet. The mark is DMH in a 3-leaf clover, entire clover is impressed into the metal. Then there's three stamps, first is a lady or man sitting, then a harp which I know means Dublin. The last one is a capital C and what looks like a line on top of the C from the front to the back. I hope my descripton is clear. Thanks in advance. IP: Logged |

It is difficult to determine the date accurately without a photo, but it sounds like it's possible that the letter mark is actually the Gaelic letter T. If the shape around the letter is like a 4 leaf clover, then the piece is dated 1935; if the shape around it is octagonal, the date mark would be for 1984. IP: Logged |

Hi JoannH, As doc said, it really is impossible to opine on the provinence without a photograph. The "DMH" inside a 3 leaf clover (or shamrock) is the maker's mark, and one which I cannot readily identify, due to my lack of knowledge rather than it being impossible. Please send a picture and we can narrow it down to the date it was made. Best rgds, TomC IP: Logged |

Thanks for the quick response. The camera that I have isn't good enough to get a pic of the marks. The only clover\shamrock is the one with the letters in it. The "T" has nothing around it but the stamped square that's it's in. IP: Logged |

Hello! Doc, was there a reason you didn't mention 1914 as a possible date? It seems the clover pattern for makers' marks was used at least as far back as 1872. Perhaps the owner could compare their marks at: "http://www.925-1000.com/british_marks.html" This resource only shows marks to 1920 for Dublin, but if the date mark isn't similar to any there, the 1984 date may be 'confirmed' through elimination (just as we've eliminated the 1935 date due to the lack of a lobed frame). I was relying on the description of the letter, which the poster described as a C with a line from front to back. If one looks at the symbol for the Gaelic letter T, it looks a lot like a C with a top to it. IP: Logged |
