![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Georg Adam (or Anton) Scheid was a Viennese jeweler. Among other things, he produced some of Koloman Moser's designs. Scheid's work is top-quality. His mark is G.A.S. Here are two examples: Victorian silver pin with two dogs. I haven't been lucky enough to find any of Scheid's Jugendstil work yet. Do any of our other jewelry collectors have examples of Scheid to share? IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Lovely pieces, Paul! I've always been a fan of Scheid's designs and beautiful enamel work. Did not realize that his shop produced some Moser designs, were they marked in some way to indicate his work?. Realize that this is the jewelry forum, but my Mom has a rather simple and elegant boat-shaped w/handle, blue enameled Scheid salt that has always reminded me of some of the Secessionist pieces designed by Moser and Hoffmann for the Wiener Werkstatte in the early 1900s, can take a pic if you'd like to see it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Cheryl, I would love to see the Scheid salt. I was not aware that he produced non-jewelry items as well. I don't know if the Moser designs were marked in any special way to indicate his work. This information is in several references, including Ginger Moro's book and the Art Nouveau & Art Deco Silver book. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Have seen some stunning boxes, dresser and desk pieces, matchsafes, cigarette cases, etc. by Scheid, such nice quality (all small items). Will try and get over to Mom's for pics in the next couple of days. Cheryl ;o) [This message has been edited by dragonflywink (edited 03-08-2007).] IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Well, nothing like taking over a year to post pics: Scheid .900 silver open salt with guilloche enamel, the spoon in pic 2 is a David-Andersen plique-a-jour piece. IP: Logged |
