We have a lot of Kramer jewelry with the familiar mushroom and "mouse ears" mark:
We just acquired a Kramer piece with another mark:
Does anyone know why this mark is different from the others? Was one used when he made jewelry with his wife? (And what really are the "mouse-ear" devices on the first mushroom?) IP: Logged |

I believe the second mark was that used by his wife Carol on pieces she made before and after his death. I don't know what the two lobes on top of Sam's mark mean. Like Surrealists in other media, Sam used a lot of imagery in his work that carried sexual connotations, so my guess is that they are either in that vein (a pair of breasts, perhaps) or they are just an abstract design.
