Here ia an example of Society of Arts of Boston member Lillian R. Foster. Listed as working in Philadelphia in 1927. Her married name was Lillian Foster Comfort and in 1959 she was living in Weston, Connecticut. She had a private studio and had achieved the status as Master Craftsman SACB
This is a 2" sterling brooch with prong set jelly opals. The back shows construction and mark.
Have others found examples of her work? Fred IP: Logged |

How beautiful! The only piece of Foster jewelry I've seen is a pair of simple, Arts & Crafts (almost modernistic) cufflinks - oval with bezel set carnelian cabochons with a hammered Sterling frame. I didn't know Foster was in the Boston Society of Arts & Crafts. The cufflinks I saw were from a dealer in central MA. - rat IP: Logged |
