Hello all, Here is a sterling silver Arts & Crafts style cuff bracelet covered with unusual symbols. I don't think they are simply decorative, but I don't know what meaning they might have. Also, the mark is unknown to me. Can anyone help on either count? Brent IP: Logged |

Wohelo is a word that relates to Campfire Girls and the mark has the shape of a Campfire Girls insignia. Maybe that's a starting place? IP: Logged |

Actually, after a little looking around, I can tell you that the bracelet is an official piece of Campfire Girls regalia that was supplied by the Campfire Outfitting Company which was an arm of Campfire Girls. The company was formed and initially funded by the Campfire Girls organization around the 1920's, I think, in order to have complete control over what was supplied to members. Fire Maker is a level in Campfire Girls and the bracelet is a "rank" insignia for Fire Maker. I'm guessing that wohelo and the Campfire Girls symbol outline made up the Campfire Outfitting Company's trademark. Tsimshiam Indian letters are supposed to For the Campfire Girls, one meaning of the word wohelo was love as it relates to service.
