[26-1405] Can anyone help with this? I have a Danish silver enamel pendant with AM under crown-Another mark looks very similar to that of Erik Magnussen, but not quite like those I've seen (wrong time frame for him too i think). But the really confusing mark is.. GJLD (smaller capital D) I can find no similar Jensen marks. I was sold this as Jensen several years ago - Hadn't really looked at the mark for ages either. I'd guess this is a 1970's piece. Can anyone help? Thanks,

I can't tell the date without a picture, but Magnussen, having left Gorham unhappily in 1929, did go back and work the rest of his life in Denmark. Could be from this later part of his life? IP: Logged |

I'm now sure that the AM is for Anton Michelsen . But the designer and the other mark still confuses me. I've just looked up the English import mark which seems to be 1985! Perhaps this was added later?? It is 20+ years too late for Magnussen. I guess designs may have been reissued /signed later? Thanks for the replies. DAvid IP: Logged |

Yes, that is the Michelsen mark. The designer mark does look like Magnussen. The brooch could be a reissue, or the import stamp may have been stamped long after the pin was made. Can you post a picture of the entire piece so we can all see the design? IP: Logged |

Maybe the company has been producing this design for a long time and this particular example was made long after it was first introduced? IP: Logged |

Here is a picture of the front of the pendant.
At the time of purchase the dealer had another in purple and orange. These colors are typically 1970's combinations. Would it be possible to have added the import marks after enameling? David IP: Logged |

Color combinations are not very reliable for dating things, especially when you have clear hallmarks. IP: Logged |

True but that's not the only thing that seemed out of place- Magnussen died in 1961. That doesn't match the date either! That is why i had suspected later import marks. I could be way off -but still no ID of the GJLd or EM marks. I must have looked at every example of Anton M enamel work on-line, none have these marks. IP: Logged |
