Possibly some kind of advertising product, it depicts a Cyanamid chemical plant. The details are good & pretty complete (including a billowing smoke stack & waste products being pumped into a reservoir), but the manufacturing quality is only mediocre (thin silver plate over lightweight base metal). One side has the Cyanamid logo and "PHOSPHATES AND NITROGEN DEPARTMENT". I couldn't identify which actual chemical plant this item depicts. The inside has a dark lacquer finish. Aesthetically, I find chemical plants interesting to regard because of their elements of complexity, intricacy, repetition, and eeriness (especially at night). FIRST USE: 19561000. FIRST USE IN COMMERCE: 19561000 AMERICAN CYANAMID COMPANY CORPORATION MAINE 30 ROCKEFELLER PLAZA NEW YORK 20 NEW YORK Subsequent trademark registrations for this company are for fertilizer and other products.
