John Fix was an award-winning metalsmith and teacher. He became an artisan member of the Society of North American Goldsmiths in 1992. Here is an example of his work, a brooch with great colors and a strong graphic appeal. It is a cube shape in silver pierced by an arrow made of 4 colors of acrylic plastic. The pin is marked STERLING, and carries Fix's signature (JFix) as well as the SNAG logo, meaning it was made 1992 or later, I would say early to mid-90s. The quality of craftsmanship is outstanding.

Cool pin, Paul and I really like his maker's mark. It's also the first piece I've seen with the additional SNAG mark. Thanks for sharing. IP: Logged |
