![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Emily A. Day was a 20th century jeweler and metalsmith whose work appears somewhat regularly. The most common form is probably pierced pins and trivets with nature themes. Until recently she's been somewhat of a mystery. But we stumbled on a short Day bio: "Emily A. Day of Peterborough does both jewelry and metalwork — salad sets, stamp boxes, and letter openers. She became interested in her craft as a summer camper in N.H. After serving in the Army during World War II, she returned to N.H. to serve as director of the Sharon Arts Center. Five years later she left that position to devote full time to making metal crafts." IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Her work is a bit rough, but engaging. Our favorites are probably her copper boxes with applied lifelike leaves, seeds, and acorns: ![]() ![]() A nice letter opener and candle snuffer: And her trademark silver and copper trivets: IP: Logged |
