The new show paradigm???? The internet is changing everthing ... Maybe the future of shows is to become the showroom for dealers. Dealers will setup at shows so that buyers can inspect the Internet auction listing. The items will be up for auction before and during show. The auction(s) will end during the course of the show and all will be done by the last day of the show. The buyer and dealer can complete the transaction at the show or via the mail. If this idea works, the show promoters will have to put out terminals for attendees to bid and/or provide a bidding service. They will also have to put up their own Internet auctions and/or make business arrangements with the other online auctions. Hey, maybe the show promoters will charge less for booth space and admission if they get a piece of the final auction sale price. Of course not everything will sell on line. I am sure that much will continue to be sold/bartered/haggled like always. Scott Martin IP: Logged |
