Although not a formal event, I thought I would share with you that we recently visited New London, Connecticut and are happy to report that this historic little waterfront town is undergoing a renaissance. We are also happy to report that antiques are playing a role in the revitalization with several antique shops and centers opening up. We actually even found a little silver!! New London is on the Thames River and is easily accessible by car, train and ferry. Downtown New London is listed as a district on the National Register of Historic Places and New London is also home to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. You might want to combine a visit to New London with viewing the Fall foliage. We'd like to see this effort to create a new antiquing destination succeed. IP: Logged |
