As part of A Day for Silver Lovers on May 21 at the Newark Museum, we had the opportunity to have Ulysses Dietz give us a personalized tour of Style, Status, Sterling - The Triumph of Silver in America. The exhibit was grand and we highly recommend the Newark Museum and this particular exhibition. IP: Logged |

Hear! Hear! When I was there the galleries had more than a few under 25s (maybe because of the adjacent University?) - a clever exhibit full of good comparisons and nicely balanced didactic labels - Jean and Scott, I am jealous, I just WISHED to get at the pieces behind the glass! If you get a chance to go do - this one is too good to miss!! IP: Logged |

Just a reminder to silver enthusiasts, that on the website for this exhibition (up through February at least!) is a link to the "Checklist" which gives you nearly every piece of American silver in our holdings (including, for my own reasons, Georg Jensen and other Danish silver purchased in NYC stores in the 1920s-40s). If you find something on this checklist about which you'd like to know more, I am available by email to answer questions. I dread the day this show closes, because it might be another five years before any of it gets back out on view. IP: Logged |
