Objects of Desire[link gone from the Internet] May 3, 2006 - February 18, 2007 Presented by
Come see 200 glittering treasures representing every aspect of jewelry design and discover the fascinating stories behind them. Egyptian scarabs, testimonial medallions and royal gemstones are but a few of these magnificent Objects of Desire from The Newark Museum's permanent collection. IP: Logged |

This isn't exactly silver, but there is silver in it..."Objects of Desire: 500 Years of Jewelry" has just opened here at The Newark Museum. Over 200 pieces of jewelry, from 1500 to the present, including (of course) quite a few example of silver jewelry from as far back as the 16th century and as recent as last year. IP: Logged |

Gee, it would be nice if I actually read the other submissions, wouldn't it? Here, on a modest note, are some really rare and early silver "Etruscan" jewels by Ferdinand Herpers of Newark, ca. 1870. IP: Logged |

Hi, Ulysses. Any photo of the Herpers mark? IP: Logged |
