If you should find yourself passing through the San Francisco Airport International terminal sometime between now and August, you should check out the exhibition called Collecting by Design - Silver and Metalware of the 20th Century. [link gone from the Internet] This exhibition presents over 350 works from the collection of interior architect Margo Grant Walsh. Although inspired by American and English Arts and Crafts silver, the collection evolved to include objects from gifted makers and designers from around the world. Ms. Grant Walsh has donated more than 250 pieces to the Portland Art Musuem, many of which are on loan to the San Francisco Airport Museum for this exhibition. What a wonderful diversion for a weary traveler. IP: Logged |
