Please excuse me for posting a non-silver item, but the Metropolitan Museum of Art has a George Caleb Bingham exhibit through September 20th that may be of interest to you. The name of the exhibit is "Navigating the West: George Caleb Bingham and the River." Karen Wilkin has an excellent review of the exhibit in the 26 August 2015 Wall Street Journal and in my opinion captures the beauty of the time period that Mr. Bingham was active. I grew up in St. Louis and luckily had some access to both the Missouri and Mississippi rivers. Both Mr. Bingham and Mark Twain were childhood favorites of mine and in many way still are. I think you will enjoy this exhibit. IP: Logged |

It is indeed a great show. If you haven't heard of Bingham, go, learn and enjoy. IP: Logged |
