In response to OUTWEST request for info/availability on Elizabeth Beckmans' book about Cincinnati Silversmiths. Ms. Beckman has passed away some years ago. A relative states the book may be reproduced in the future along with a CD. The Amazon.com photocopy has been removed as it is a violation of copyright law. The relative is a member of SMP. I will leave it to that person to respond if that person so desires. IP: Logged |

Oh! That relative wouldn't happen to have an extra copy just lying around collecting dust? I'm glad that the xeroxed copy was removed from Amazon. It didn't seem right to me and I wasn't going to buy it. I bugged me that someone would xerox an entire book, spiral bind it and then sell it for $75.00. Good for her relative for doing something about it! I did hear that the Cincinnati Art Museum was going to publish a book on Cincinnati silver by Amy Dehan? IP: Logged |

Although I am still in the beginning stage of research, yes, I will be writing a book on Cincinnati Silver. If anyone has any interesting information to share, I'm all ears. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Welcome back to the forums. If you haven't already done so, you can search the forums for Cincinnati posts. In particular you may find these two of interest: up, up, and away Silversmith Advertising Countermark As you will have probably also noticed, there is also a Curator's Forum. I am sure Ulysses Dietz will welcome your participation. IP: Logged |

In reference to the post by Swarter. Holman was a Cincinnati silversmith who,if memory serves me correctly, was a ballon aficionardo in early Cincinnati. I have never seen this mark before. zzzzzzit appears as though he had himself a logo. IP: Logged |
