As always, as an addition to anything that is currently readily available through this site, here is some vital statistics and an ad concerning Gershom F Melcher: Abbie U Vennard born 1841, daughter of Andrew B & Ariadne Vennard of Portsmouth, New Hampshire married Gershom F Melcher. Family records indicate that the union took place on 26 July 1871 at the South Church, Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Abbie U is listed in post 1876 Portsmouth City Directories as Gershom's widow and with her family in the 1880 and 1900 U S Federal Census's as Abbie U Melcher. From an 1873 Portsmouth, New Hampshire Directory advertisement: IP: Logged |
