Hello: I compiled a large number of celebrity endorsement ads from 1937-about 1946 from LIFE magazine online. About 75% were found via that micro-site search, but going through each issue, more are popping up. The ads promote 1847 Rogers Bros, International Sterling, the Silver Theater in Hollywood, the Ozzie & Harriett show, etc. Stars include Clark Gable, Joan Crawford, Judy Garland, etc., etc. etc. In the large compilation, the ads start in year 1937. In this regard, does anyone know about writings about The Silver Theater? I suspect it might be detailed in radio/TV history books, along with that era's GE Theater. Also, might anyone have leads about "Bride's magazine"? Ads apparently were in this as well. [This message has been edited by DMatADC (edited 11-03-2017).] IP: Logged |
