my teapot has the anchor w/EP, a "2", a star in a circle and a shovel. above the anchor it says GM Co. . the pattern # is 010962 it also says 8 oz. On the front itis momogrammed with DG. any ideas of where it's from or how old it is? thank-you, from north pole, alaska ! IP: Logged |

Well, it is definitely Gorham electroplate. The other marks are a bit confusing. The star in a circle is the date letter for 1888. The shovel is the date letter for 1923! If they are in fact Gorham date letters, there should be one or the other, not both. Based on the style of the Gorham mark, though, with the GM Co. over the anchor, we can safely place your teapot in the 1920's, with the shovel mark for 1923 being the one to believe. IP: Logged |
