Can any one help me with some information on the dates and what symbols may mean? And if any one has any idea what this would be worth that would be very helpful as well

What you have is a nice Gorham silver plate coffee pot. The is the single anchor manufacturer's mark used by Gorham Manufacturing Company (G M Co) on silver plate. For sterling they use the lion anchor G mark. The E P is for Electro Plate usually on Nickel Silver. A simple way to get an idea of the value of your silver is to watch eBay for the next year and see what several similar items sell for. Or you could secure the services of a professional appraiser. To request information about an professional appraiser in your area, go to here. The following is from this link: quote: To find an appraiser in your area click here. IP: Logged |

"20 oz" is the pot's capacity. The "01006" (or is that 01005?) is just the model number. Gorham pieces, such as this one, with numbers beginning with a 0 are electroplated. Sometimes such pieces are not stamped EP. I don't know what the "16" on the left means. It looks to me like there might be a mark to the right, but it's hidden in shadow. If you can submit a clear picture of this mark, it might turn out to be a date mark and we could pinpoint exactly what year this piece was made. IP: Logged |
