I bought 6 silver teaspoons at a yard sale and I'm having difficulty identifying them. The hallmarks on the box are def. Gorham markings lion, anchor, and G. The spoons have three hallmarks, "T", hand holding wheat or thistle, and a bird or rabbit looking left. Its very difficult to make the symbols out. The only one that is clear is the T. Do these sound American or foreign? They look like English style dessert spoons with machine ground edges on the bowl of the spoon. Also, they seem to be solid silver and high quality. Any ideas? Thanks! IP: Logged |

So the spoons came in a box, which had the Gorham trademark on it? The marks on the spoons don't sound like Gorham, so it seems like the spoons and the box are a marriage. The description of your spoons' marks reminds me of marks used by Towle on some silverplate flatware. But this is just a guess based on your description. Could you post pictures?
