rmorgan unregistered	posted 07-17-2003 11:50 PM Hi, Does anyone know what is the patent number for Chantilly? I have been trying to find it but to no avail. I also wonder if anyone knows where I can find a complete list of all pieces (both flatware and holloware) that was made in this pattern? Thanks for your help Robert M. IP: Logged

Are the Gorham Archives a possible source for this type of information? Do the Archives also include patent information? IP: Logged

secondcourse Posts: 12 Registered: Dec 2003	posted 01-25-2004 03:37 PM If you have the patience for a needle in the haystack search, images of original design patents are available for viewing at the United States Patent office website located at www.uspto.gov . You will want to search by patent number but be sure to preface each search with the letter D (for design patents). For example: searching for D24500 takes you to a design patented in July of 1895, the year of the Chantilly patent. From there go to the next higher or lower number and you can then view all the design patents for the year....yes it is slow going but with patience you will find the patent number for Chantilly, the date of application, date of issue, and be able to view the original application.
