Does anyone have an idea what this object is? It bears the maker's mark for Simons Bros. of Philadelphia and is numbered 2041. Perhaps a tea strainer or other tea implement of some sort? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I think the term used is Sugar Sifter. The scoop allows you to scoop the sugar and the holes allow you to sprinkle it onto the desert. I have never used one and may be all wet! Fred IP: Logged |

I have always thought it is a nutmeg sifter. IP: Logged |

What size is it? I think it is smaller than it looks in the photo and it is a spoon that was used with a salt cellar to serve salt. Scoop first and the rotate to shake some out. We have several and they work really well. IP: Logged |
