I have acquired a toast holder in the Medallion pattern marked with an anchor, Gorham Manufacturing Co., 050. From my research I know Gorham used this marking from 1865-1961 and that the production code 050 was used for silverplate. My question is when was this particular holder made and for how long? Gorham made some items for long periods of time. Medallion holloware generally is dated from the 1860's into the 1890's. Beyond that, a picture and the dimensions would allow a better idea. Usually, the older something is the bigger it is. And with toast racks there can be some differences between commercial and residential pieces. IP: Logged |
