[26-0476] Please help, I recently purchased set of Gorham brite cut napkin rings from an online auction site, has the Gorham hallmark used 1852-1865, and also has what appears to be the star date mark for 1888??? Anyone?? Thanks in advance..

The image is not too clear, but it does appear to be one of the various post-1865 sterling marks and appropriate with a star date mark of 1888. IP: Logged |

Also, Gorham did not begin using the sterling standard until 1868. The particular trademark you show, with the lion-anchor-G symbols not enclosed in boxes, seems to occur mostly during the 1880s, particularly on napkin rings, novelties (like scent bottles), etc. IP: Logged |
