I was just browsing on eBay when I came across auction #1425740276. The item is a pair of serving spoons in Dominick & Haff's Mazarin pattern, and they are marked with the appropriate D & H marks. However, they are also stamped "GEO. W. SHIEBLER." The mark reminds me of what a retailer mark might look like. Does anybody have any explanation for why "GEO. W. SHIEBLER" might appear on a pair of D & H spoons? [This message has been edited by Paul Lemieux (edited 06-06-2001).] IP: Logged |
