Tiffany Persian For those who want to acquire some Tiffany place settings but seek a little exclusivity and avoid patterns that you can still buy at Geary’s, Persian is a good example. It originated in 1872 when exotic lands were all in vogue (Japanese, Egyptian, Persian) and would seem quite out of place today with its ornate design. But it is a beautiful example of the silvermakers art. A discussion of this pattern may be found in the Forum IP: Logged |

This may be in your place setting forum, but do you know when Tiffany stopped making Persian? I can't imagine it survived much past WWI. I think its shape is so Victorian (as opposed to English King and even Olympian, and certainly Japanese, where the shape is really 18th century and thus made the transition to the 20th century better) that it would have failed sooner rather than later. I love it. IP: Logged |
