Check out the August 2000 issue of the magazine Antiques for the article, "Tiffany's Japanesque flatware," by William P. Hood, Jr., with Roslyn Berlin and Edward Wawrynek. It traces the development of Tiffany's flatware in the Japanese taste from the die-stamped Japanese pattern introduced in 1871 to the Lap Over Edge pattern with etched, inlaid and applied Japanesque decoration introduced in 1880.
