The exhibition, Tiffany Silver Flatware, 1845-1905: When Dining Was an Art, just opened at the Columbus (Georgia) Museum and will run through July 23, 2000. The some 300 pieces include rare forms such as an individual melon fork-knife, a hooded nut spoon, a cheese scoop with a built-in ejector, individual asparagus tongs, etc. Particularly outstanding is a selection of Japanesque pieces with applied ornament. There are also pieces from the custom Mackay and Searles services. Tel: 706-649-0713. IP: Logged |

Last weekend I visited friends in GA and detoured through Columbus to see the exhibit. An impressive array of flatware by anyone's standard - thank you for sharing it with the public! IP: Logged |
