Wondered what you could tell me about this piece - pattern, date, use? It is 11 3/4" and weights 7.5 oz. It is marked "Tiffany & Co Makers Sterling C" IP: Logged |

Your piece is a cast openwork bon bon server. Tiffany made a variety of these in various sizes. Most have no pattern name, only a number. (I don't know the number of your particular piece.) The "C" date letter indicates it was made 1902 - 1907 (see Table 11 and pages 310 - 331 in the book, Tiffany Silver Flatware, 1845 - 1905: When Dining Was an Art, Antique Collectors' Club, Woodbridge, Suffolk, 2000. In the same source, pp. 282 - 283, you will find other pieces similar to yours. IP: Logged |
