Here is another unusual variation of Antique Engraved. It is not quite as elaborate as the engraving on my teaspoon, but nice. This sugar sifter also has an unusual bowl, unlike any of the known Tiffany sugar sifter bowls. It has the early "omega m" date letter which puts it in the early 1870's. This is consistent with the wonderful monogram style as well. I have seen this pattern in one other piece, a fish slice with an early blade style. Does anyone else have other examples? Brent: I agree with your analysis. I have not seen this particular engraving design before. There are dozens of such designs in the Tiffany Archives. I am frequently asked about whether they have numbers or names. Unfortunately, there is no "master key" with such information. The only ones that have been identified to my knowledge are no. 4 and no. 20 (Antique Ivy). I also have not seen this bowl style on another Tiffany sugar sifter. IP: Logged |
