Recently, I have seen three separate pieces of Tiffany serving pieces where there are definte soldered marks across the center of the handle. One piece was an obvious broken and repaired spoon but I just recently ran across a salad serving set in Tiffany Richelieu with the "T" datemark. There are very faint solder marks on these pieces in the exact same location in both servers. The size measures consistant to what I have seen in these piece types. Is this part of the manufacturing process? IP: Logged |

The flat handle in Tiffany's Richelieu is always made from a single sterling blank. There should never be evidence of soldering across the center of the handle. Hence, one must conclude the handles of the salad set have been repaired. It seems odd, however, that both handles would have been broken in exactly the same location. IP: Logged |
