Dr. Hood (or anyone else), Would you happen to know if the Tiffany flatware patterns, Whittier and Stuyvesant were ever patented and what the patent numbers are? IP: Logged |

Scott: I am unable to say whether these patterns were patented. The Tiffany archives has a file of some of the company's original patent applications. In my notes from research in the archives I have no record of seeing applications for either of these patterns. IP: Logged |

Jersey, Your attempt to be helpful is appreciated. But the question was Would you happen to know if the Tiffany flatware patterns, Whittier and Stuyvesant were ever patented and what the patent numbers are? and not when were they introduced nor whether they were Sterling or SP. I am researching what the patterns patent numbers are (if patented) and not when they were introduced. Please when re-quoting dates of introduction site your source(s). Combing thru the patent records based on dates and not a patent number has been done. Sources can be contradictory or not agree or very wrong. For example:
Davis & Deibel says Regent was patented December 30, 1884 whereas the patent office records show a patent date of January 13, 1885. Have a safe fourth. IP: Logged |
