Hi! Love this forum! Question for Mr. Hood please. In your Tiffany silver Flatware 1845-1905 book (I assume it was done by you), you make reference on page 51 & show a picture (figure 50) of a knife in the Canova pattern. There are pictures of a spoon & fork a well. Can you give me more info on this unusual pattern and possibly tell me I would be rems if I failed to tell you how much I love your book as well, NOT kidding! Thank you in advance or your time, I am sure you are busy but hopefully you can reply to this message. Jersey IP: Logged |

Thanks for your kind comments about the book Tiffany Silver Flatware. The Canova pieces in the book are from a dessert set that was illustrated and discussed in detail in an article titled "Exceptional Nineteenth Century British Flatware, Including a Rare Canova Pattern Dessert Set," which appeared in Silver Magazine, March/April 2004, pp. 18-27. It would be inappropriate for me to discuss sale of such a set here in the forums, but for more information you can contact me privately at Bhood2000@aol.com IP: Logged |
