[26-0515] I found a napkin ring in a job lot I bought at an auction. I can't seem to identify the marks and hope someone can help. The wording is H Sterling 198 - There looks like some kind of bird sitting on a branch with the letter M on top. I have tried to find these marks on line at the various sites that show marks without any luck and tried searching on " H Sterling 198 ". The problem as a newcomer is knowing what country to search in. I have recently retired and am now to looking at various silver items. If someone can help with a way to search for marks on line it would be appreciated. I have added a picture of the napkin ring to this post. The napkin ring is engraved George - would a picture of the engraving help ?
