[26-0630] My silver trophy cup has peculiar marks - "WB", a horse head facing left, and "silver", all in different shape shields. I hope the picture comes up - it's the first time I've tried to do a post with a picture. Comments on posting as well as info on cup very welcome.

I await correction, but I believe this is the mark of Weidlich Brothers Manufacturing of Bridgeport CT (1901-1950). They specialied in sterling and plate trophies. I removed your duplicate post. IP: Logged |

Sorry WEV - for the first time ever I have to disagree with you! - Not Conneticut! - Although these marks have been published as such! (One of my pet peeves is wrongly ascribed marks on too little evidence!) These are the marks of Warner Brothers (No relation, I think!) - of Delhi in British India. They are working thru the period between 1918 and 1947 and made many fine pieces. IP: Logged |

Thanks for the info. New, related, question: Does anybody have any info on Warner Brothers of Delhi defined in the last post? A simple search brings up zillions of references to W.B., the film company, but I didn't find any to the silversmiths. Thanks again. IP: Logged |
