A friend has a necklace stamped "Tiffany & Co.925". Under magnification it appears it is chipping. I thought 925 indicated sterling. Anyone help with this? thanks Ryon IP: Logged |

Hi ryonhood, Sometimes Tiffany is not Tiffany.. and sometimes sterling is not sterling. Also, there is usually a Rhodium plating on silver jewelry to prevent tarnishing. That may be peeling off. Your friend didn't happen to purchas this from a street vendor in NYC by any chance? There is a lot of fake Tiffany running around. Marc IP: Logged |

Really appreciate your input. Looked bogus to me but figured I might be missing something. Will have to ask where it was purchased. Thanks again, Ryon Hood IP: Logged |
