Does anyone know who originated the "Keystone" pattern in flatware? It is usually listed as a Whiting pattern, but there are plenty of pre-Whiting pieces out there. My piece is typical: It is marked "PAT'D SEP.7. 1869", plus "STERLING" and a capital "T" on its side I know Whiting accumulated old patterns like Keystone, Armor, Knot, etc. through a number of buyouts. Any idea where Keystone came from? Is the patent documentation still in existence? As always, any info is appreciated. Brent IP: Logged |
