Your spoon is a nice example of a cast serving piece that complements the Martelé line. Note that while the piece is cast, it still has a sort of handmade feel in the bowl. Since these pieces were cast instead of handwrought, they were less expensive (but probably still not cheap) than Martelé servers. I am not sure what the dimensions are for this piece, but it looks like it might be a berry spoon. This and a few other Martelé style serving pieces are illustrated in the catalog for the "Magnificent, Marvelous Martelé" exhibit. IP: Logged |

I purchased mine from Spencer Marks a couple months ago, and they are apparently out of stock at the moment. I think you can purchase one from the publisher. Here is their information: New Orleans Museum of Art I believe the book was printed in a limited run of 3000, so the book may become difficult to obtain after a while. IP: Logged |
